About Charles River School

Welcome

I am delighted to introduce you to our vibrant, independent day school, which is celebrating its Centennial in 2011-2012. For 100 years, Charles River School has led students on a fascinating journey of academic discovery.  On a tour of our 16-acre campus, you’ll find students from PreKindergarten through Grade 8 at various stages along that journey, all actively engaged in—and taking responsibility for—their own learning.

CRS students think critically and creatively as they work independently and cooperatively with their classmates. They also become academic risk takers, confident that teachers and fellow students value and encourage intellectual exploration.

Charles River School is a diverse and close-knit community of students, parents and educators drawn from more than 30 Greater Boston towns. Together, we set the bar high for children’s social, moral and intellectual development and we provide students with the time, resources and steady guidance they need to fulfill their goals.

In my nineteenth year as Head of School, I continue to marvel each day at the breadth and depth of our children’s educational experiences. I look forward  to welcoming you to our campus to observe and experience first hand this unique educational environment.
