Learning Support
With small class sizes and two teachers in each classroom from Grades PreK through 6, students may receive individual or small group instruction during the course of the day in many ways. A reading specialist works with students in Grades K-2 who will benefit from more individualized study. Our on-staff learning specialist works with students in the middle and upper grades to provide support in reading and writing.
Students may also receive tutoring outside the classroom during and after the school day. Tutoring is recommended for children who need substantial individual support to make progress in the classroom. CRS wants to have a working partnership with the students’ tutors. We expect tutors to speak often with their students’ classroom teachers so that content, concepts and curriculum can be coordinated and strategies and materials are shared.
