Visual Arts
From PreKindergarten to Grade 8, the art program is coordinated with classroom studies. In the early elementary grades, the focus is on exploring new materials and developing self-esteem, with an emphasis on self-expression. As students move into the middle and upper elementary grades, they are given increasingly challenging projects and supported as they continue to express their creativity through their artwork.
Finally, the 7th and 8th grade Art program gives students the opportunity to explore several directions in art. In their final two years at CRS, students experience various units of study that complement and balance their art experience. Drawing, painting, ceramics and other sculpting mediums are included. The art program also integrates elements of Art History into the studio classes.
