Physical Education
From PreKindergarten to Grade 8, the Physical Education program is developmental and skill-based. In the early grades, children begin to develop sports skills, practice locomotor skills and experience creative movement through music, dance and rhythmic activities. For students in Grade 3 and up, the Play Barn’s climbing wall is an adventure in risk taking and safely scaling the heights.
As students reach the middle elementary grades, they begin to learn to think on their feet and master skills through team sports and games. In the upper elementary and middle school grades, the program includes cooperative games, standard games such as capture the flag and ultimate Frisbee, and team sports, including field hockey, soccer and basketball.
Every time CRS students attend PE class, they are working towards a lifetime appreciation of healthy physical activity and a life-long commitment to the value of teamwork.
