Buddies

At CRS, it’s not unusual to see one of our youngest students engaged in an animated discussion or playing a silly game with a student in the 7th or 8th grade. These not-so-unlikely friends are “Buddies,” a matched pair who stay together for two years and take time every month to enjoy each other’s company. 7th and 8th grade students are matched with PreKindergarten and Kindergarten students, 6th graders are matched with 3rd graders, 5th graders are paired with 2nd graders, and 4th graders are matched with 1st graders.

Buddy pairs participate in various events throughout the year together, such as Earth Day, Sports Day and the Halloween parade. The older students serve as excellent role models for the younger students and both ages benefit from this interaction and friendship
