

Endowment Giving and Funds
GENERAL UNRESTRICTED ENDOWMENT
The general endowment supports all aspects of the yearly operating budget including academics, arts and athletics to name a few areas. CRS is continually seeking to grow our endowment since the needs of the school are diverse.

Endowed Funds
Saltonstall Family Endowment
Created in memory of Richard and Mary B. Saltonstall and their children Richard Jr. ’49 and Polly ’33, this fund supports faculty salaries and the maintenance of The Dewey Center.
Richard K. Thorndike ’23 Endowment
Funded through a generous bequest, Richard Thorndike ’23 started this fund that recognizes the importance of compensating the most important asset of our school, our faculty.
Tislowitz Family Endowment
Dr. Richard F. Tislow established this fund with the purpose of enhancing faculty salaries. Dr. Tislow, the father-in-law of Head of School Anna Jones 1978-1993, dedicated this fund to the memory of his parents, brother and wife.
Adshead-Johnson Faculty Development Fund
Started to honor Gladys Adshead, Head of School 1949-1959, and started to honor Emily Johnson 1959-1966, this fund gives teachers and staff funds to pursue further education and degrees and brings noted speakers to the CRS campus.
Anna M. Jones Endowment
This fund honors Head of School 1978-1993 Anna Jones upon her retirement. The funds exist to support faculty and students directly either through faculty development or financial aid.
Willis Family Endowment
Sally Saltonstall Willis ’51 and Dudley Willis started this endowment fund in 1989 to support financial aid for Charles River School students.
Other Funds
Andrew Connor DeLuca ’14 Fund
This fund was begun in memory of Andrew Connor DeLuca; it provides funds for financial aid.
Marion L. Earley Fund for Financial Aid
This fund honors and recognizes Mimi Earley’s 30 years of dedication and service to CRS and reaffirms her enduring commitment to the need for and benefits of financial aid at Charles River School.
