Purpose

The Annual Fund sustains and enriches the school's operating budget. Because tuition covers 77% of the expense of educating each student, we have an Annual Fund to close the gap. Your gifts help us to:

• Expand and enhance curriculum materials to compliment our challenging and rich curriculum
• Attract and retain our top-notch faculty
• Encourage diversity
• Maintain campus facilities
• Support our athletic program
• Provide financial aid

Goal

Our goal this year is to raise $450,000 and to increase participation.  Every gift counts and supports the academic, arts and athletic programs; strengthens faculty salaries and professional development opportunities; and provides financial aid to our students.

Over 500 friends of the School contribute to the Annual Fund each year with gifts ranging from $25 to $25,000.  Last year, 100% of the faculty and staff made donations to CRS, a remarkable statement of support from those who know the school best.  We thank everyone who contributed to our success.

Leadership gifts of $2000 and above play a significant role in keeping Charles River School strong. Here is a summary of our leadership giving societies:

• 1994-95 Technology, $30,000 raised
• 1995-96 Science and technology, $40,000 raised
• 1996-97 Fields Project, $210,000 raised
• 1997-98 Library project, $50,000 raised
• 1998-99 Faculty Professional Development, $60,000 raised
• 1999-2000 Playgrounds, $55,000 raised
• 2004-05 Playground area equipment, drainage and landscaping, $100,000 raised
