Charles River School is excited to reopen its campus and resume in-person learning in September 2020. In order to do this, we need to mitigate risks to the greatest extent possible, which is why we've developed the plans and protocols shared in this section of the website. Given that circumstances change frequently and information is updated daily, any of these plans are subject to change.

Opening Schedule & Important Dates

We can't wait to welcome students, faculty, and staff back to campus! In order to help introduce students to their cohorts and acclimate to new protocols, there is an amended schedule during the first week of school.

During the first week of school, Tuesday, September 8 through Friday, September 11, CRS will be in session for half days. Also, we will stagger the first two days by grade.

We will move to full days, beginning the week of September 14 - with staggered pick-up and drop-off times. Click the link below for full details.

Guiding Principles

  • Charles River School remains committed to its mission to honor the pursuit of academic excellence and the joy of childhood. We nurture each child by igniting curiosity, encouraging creativity, and cultivating intellectual engagement.

  • We prioritize the health and safety of all community members. Our conservative approach to reopening campus serves to mitigate the risk of transmission as best we can.

  • CRS relies on its partnership with families. All members of our community must commit to health and safety measures like mask-wearing, social distancing, and hygiene.

  • In the spirit of this partnership, we will continue to maintain proper channels of communication and feedback.

  • We remain deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion work and will continue DEI engagement with our community as we recognize the unique challenges that this global health crisis presents to not only our students but to each member of their family.

  • CRS will continue to support the social-emotional well-being of its students.
