Dear Members of the Charles River School Community,

During these summer months, our faculty and parent volunteers have been hard at work planning for the year ahead and we are excited to share our plans with you.

As of today, we remain committed to returning to campus as long as we can do so safely. The health and well being of our faculty and students, including both their physical and social-emotional health, is our highest priority. For this reason, and with so many uncertainties about what lies ahead, our approach to returning to campus is both restrictive and conservative. In many ways, the plans and protocols feel counter to everything CRS stands for -- physical distancing, isolated cohorts, and strict protocols for eating lunch -- and yet I know it is the strength of and love for our community that will help us to persevere during this difficult albeit temporary time in history.

Your voices have been vital in our planning process for the upcoming year. The factors we must consider are constant, and we are committed to continuing to work carefully, diligently, and transparently on behalf of your children and our faculty. The details we are sharing are based on the most up-to-date guidelines provided to us by the state and the CDC. We know it is a great deal of information to take in, but we ask that you read through these pages carefully. We know you may still have questions, and we will do our best to answer any concerns you have.

I am deeply appreciative of the patience, flexibility, and understanding that you have demonstrated in accepting so much uncertainty since the pandemic began last winter.

Thank you for the trust you have placed in us to educate your child.

With warm appreciation,
Gretchen
