Grade 5 Measures Up to Whales, Learns About Adaptations and Behaviors

Grade 5 continues to learn more fascinating facts about whale adaptations and behavior. Recently they compared the length of whales to objects around them to help them understand the enormity of the whale. Did you know it takes 76 glue sticks to equal the length of an eight-meter long Minke Whale? Or that it would take four Akiras (CRS 5th Grader) to match the length of an eight-meter long Orca Whale?

They also experimented with various feeding techniques that whales use to get food.  Everyone agreed that the bubbling feeding technique that Humpbacks use is the most fun because it is a team effort!
