  • Executive Assistant to the Head of School

    Charles River School is an independent Pre-K-8 school 16 miles west of Boston in Dover, MA.  Charles River School nurtures each student by igniting curiosity, encouraging creativity, and cultivating intellectual engagement.  Our graduates know themselves, understand others, and shape the future of our diverse world with confidence and compassion.

    Charles River School is seeking an energetic and dynamic personality as the Executive Assistant to the Head of School. This is a full time, twelve-month position. The Executive Assistant plays a major role in the life of the school and is deeply involved in the day-to-day work with faculty and students.  Most of the time, this individual will be the first line of contact between the Head and the external school community. Personal characteristics necessary for the position include: warm and welcoming presence, high energy and enthusiasm for school life; highest level of confidentiality at all times; a collaborative nature and consensus-building skills; patience and persistence.

    Specific duties include but are not limited to:
    • Manage the Head of School’s calendar and correspondence with all constituents
    • Liaise with and support administrative needs for the Board of Trustees
    • Assist various departments in planning campus-wide events such as graduation
    • Coordinate substitute teachers for the school as needed
    • Perform general clerical and support duties for the front office and coordinate all-school correspondence
    • Support the administrative duties of the Associate Head of School
    • Coordinate and schedule hiring for new positions
    • Manage record keeping as a registrar would (student transcripts and student and faculty attendance)
    Qualified candidates will have:
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • A minimum of three years executive support or commensurate experience
    • Proficient in office productivity software, file sharing, calendars, database entry, desktop publishing, and a willingness to learn multiple online information platforms.
    • Exceptional organizational skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    The successful candidate will exemplify a commitment to customer service, confidentiality, and will demonstrate a flexible and positive attitude in all situations. Strong initiative and a desire to work collaboratively and a good sense of humor are essential.

  • Part Time School Psychologist

    Charles River School is an independent Pre-K-8 school 16 miles west of Boston in Dover, MA.  Charles River School nurtures each student by igniting curiosity, encouraging creativity, and cultivating intellectual engagement.  Our graduates know themselves, understand others, and shape the future of our diverse world with confidence and compassion.
     
    Specific Responsibilities:
    • Offer expert consultation, direction, and support to faculty, staff, and families about children’s social-emotional growth and well-being
    • Meet weekly with Learning Specialist to follow student progress and plan support; consult to administration as needed about students
    • Educate faculty and parents through short presentations and written pieces about current research related to mental health and wellness in students
    • Provide occasional testing to better understand a child’s progress or needs
    • Lead social groups is specific grades as needed
    • Work to foster a strong partnership between families and the school
    • Serve with the Administrative Team in crisis response
    Qualifications:
    • Masters in Counseling, Psychology or equivalent degree
    • Experience with elementary and middle school student populations
    • Experience with families and an understanding of family systems
    • Professional licensure
    • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and knowledge of best practices in anti-bias and multicultural education
    • At least three years of experience working with children and families preferred

  • Substitute Teachers

    CRS is seeking qualified candidates for occasional substitute teaching in all grades and subjects, with the greatest need being in Early Childhood classrooms and specialists classes like art and music.
