CRS Summer begins on June 24th and we are starting to feel whispers of summer and the joy it brings in the air! We sat down with Emily Reith, Director of Extended Day & CRS Summer to learn all about the plans underway for CRS Summer 2024.
What are you most looking forward to in your first year at CRS Summer?
The variety, including festival periods and the daily Noontime Show! We are continuously interweaving new enhancements for CRS Summer 2024. We have activities ranging from performing & visual arts, STEM, nature, journalism, innovation, and traditional day camp sports, all within the CRCAP program this year. So your camper can take Nature, Sports, STEM, or Theatre all day long, or dabble in one of each!
Some of Emily’s favorite features this summer:
- CRS Summer has buddy and group assignments, themes, events and ice breakers to connect campers within and across all ages, skills and interests.
- New and returning counselors are currently developing camp curricula, like Sam, Adjunct Professor and Fashion Designer, who is “counting the days until CRS Summer”, or Jeremy, who runs a radio show in college and wrote his college essay on how much this camp means to him, and Avi, a grad student, teaching assistant, and pianist with national “gigs”
- Guest Artists! Talented experts in a variety of fields, from painting to podcasting, are already planning workshops during festival periods to teach campers their crafts.
- Meaningful, structured CIT program: Leadership for high school students under the mentorship of dedicated staff will plan team building and change-making activities, while earning a certificate for community service hours and receiving individual growth and recognition.
- This year, we have partnered with premier youth club sports eager to offer week-long Athletic Intensives in Soccer, Basketball, Field Hockey and Volleyball, featuring New England Surf Soccer, Mass Commanders AAU Basketball and SkyHawks Academy w/USAA Field Hockey and Volleyball.
How can campers sign up? Are there still spots open?
Currently, we still have openings in all of our programs from multi-arts to athletic intensives to counselors-in-training and mini drop-in days for our youngest campers. Check out more information here or follow us on Instagram or Facebook.
We hope to see you this summer!
