Save the date for our annual Welcome Back party hosted by the Community Association under the pavilion! The event begins at 6:00pm.

Save the date for our annual CRS Fall Fair which features many fun games and activities! The event begins at 11:00am.

The CRS school day runs from 8:15 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. Students are welcome in the classrooms beginning at 8:00 a.m. Of course, our campus is busy outside of official school hours, with sports, enrichment programs, and our Extended Day Program going as late as 6:00 p.m.

There’s a lot happening at Charles River School! Here’s a preview of the important dates to know in the upcoming academic year.

Tuition payments are made through a tuition and billing management system called Veracross. Tuition can be paid in full, in two payments, or in installments over 10 months.  After a student’s contract is signed, their information will be automatically entered into Veracross and parents/caregivers will receive an email from Veracross. The first tuition payment will be due in July.

CRS offers a Tuition Refund Plan through Dewar Insurance at a cost of .95% of tuition. Details of the plan can be found here, while pricing information is here.

CRS currently offers bus transportation from the South Shore, with stops in Randolph and Canton. We contract with Local Motion, a long-established Boston company, to provide service for our students. The bus begins picking up students at about 7:00 am and departs campus every day at 4:30 pm.

Charles River School partners with Flik Independent School Dining, an independent school food service innovator, to cook and prepare all lunches on-site in our school kitchen.

Early Birds

Early Birds is a no-cost early drop-off program for CRS students. Early Birds takes place in our library beginning at 7:30.  

Extended Day Program (EDP)

The Extended Day Program (EDP) at CRS is an extension of the school day, and the EDP staff reinforces a strong sense of continuity for students. Our program provides children with the freedom to make individual and group choices and stresses the development of interpersonal social skills and the importance of building community. 

Enrichment

Each season, we offer a variety of enrichment classes in the afternoons. These activities give students an opportunity to explore a new interest or take a deep dive into an area of interest. Classes are age-based and have included: STEM Lab, Martial Arts, Yoga, Music Lessons, Musical Theater, Babysitting Training with CPR and First Aid Training, Intro to Sports, Entrepreneurship, and more.

Athletics are an integral part of our program at CRS and a popular after-school activity for many of our students.  Whether our Otters are playing a favorite sport or learning a new one, opportunities to compete, build skills, and practice good sportsmanship abound.

Our Annual Fund is our top fundraising priority every year. It is the main vehicle through which parents and caregivers, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty, past faculty, grandparents, and friends all join together to support our school. The CRS Annual Fund is a built-in part of our budget, meaning it is a critical source of funding for everything from salaries for our exceptional faculty, to maintaining our beautiful campus, to ensuring socioeconomic diversity of our student body through financial aid. All of these are expensive but essential mission-driven elements of our school. We are proud to say we reached 100% parent & caregiver, Board of Trustee and faculty and staff participation in the FY25 Annual Fund!
